Very beautiful site and great idea! Looking forward to seeing it grow and develop. I like posting all the Masses/services online.
We are working very hard to make our site a great tool of communication and service to you all.
Beautiful website and so welcoming and informative.
Hope the church will not be locked during the day in the future. So many people stop by during the day for a quiet moment and you are seldom alone in there. There are always two or three people praying or thanking
We want to provide all the tools and assistance to provide worship and prayer to our Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you for your concern.
A friend at St John Seminary told me all priests need to belong to the
4 H club...head, heart, hands and humor. You are a member in good standing. Hope you find your glasses soon. Welcome Home Fr. Ortiz
Your kind and encouraging words reminds us priests about our calling of serving the Lord and His Church.
Is there anyway we can have adoration more frequently than once a month?
Adoration to the Blessed Sacrament is the most important devotion for us Catholics. We will take your opinion in consideration. Blessings!
Very beautiful website! I would love to see more information about how to obtain sacraments, and the guidelines for each, especially for marriage :)
I am with you! Communication and clear understanding about the steps to celebrate the Sacraments as Church must be included on our site...we will get there! Please pray for our employees, volunteers, and clergy at Santa Clara Parish.
Is there any way possible to change the mass schedules to fit in another mass in the morning. The 10:30 mass is overloaded with people standing around the edges by all the doors making it a fire hazard. My husband can't get enough breathing air since there is no air conditioning in the church and he ends up going to stand outside along with many other people standing outside. That is no way to attend a mass. We are not able to go to another mass because we are taking care of his mother and are on a schedule with her.
I used to belong to Holy Name of Mary in San Dimas a few years ago and the church was getting too small for the amount of people so they built a new bigger one. If this is impossible to build a new larger church what do you think of changing the mass schedules to something like 6:30, 7:30, 9:00, 10:30 and 12:30 for English. Maybe this would relieve some of the crowding and standing up around the doors and people standing outside.
Thank you Judy for your inquiry. We are trying to see how can we be more pastoral effective. Adding a Mass right now would be very unlike since we do not have the priests needed to make this happen. However, Air Conditioning sounds great to me! I will bring your comment to the Pastoral Committee. Blessings!
Wonderful idea, and I agree the website is very wonderful.
Great to see you Father Marco, and so glad you are back.
Can you please add Men of Promise as one of the ministeries on the website?
We meet every Saturday morning (except first Saturdays) after the 8:30 mass.
All men are welcome for fellowship and to learn more about our beauitful Catholic faith in a small group environment.
We are in the process to add more information to the website...hopefully within three months our website will be fully develop. Thanks for you comment!
¡Bendiciones!
Hi Fr. Marco & Welcome again!
We met briefly after daily mass Santa Clara Chapel last Friday. Wanted to know if you 'would'nt mind giving me your email and being on our Defender's for Life list. I send out a weekly reminder letting our Defender's know the times we pray in front of planned parenthood, updates, 40Days for Life info & lately lots of prayer request. I would love to meet with you as your time permits and just let you know what the "Defender's For Life" do throughout the year, not only for Santa Clara parish but all the parishes that you included in your prayers at mass the other day. I hope St. Anthony has already assisted you in finding your glasses. Keep us posted, ok.:o) God Bless!
Thanks for your kind words. We will have a chance to meet soon I hope...Blessings!
Why is it we can never find the schedule of the events for the Fiesta?
Mary, your are right! communication is key, hopefully soon we will better organized and informed.
Welcome Father Marco! I love the new website and the information available so far and soon to be. How about information on how to register to become a member and volunteer for the Church?
So far, two thumbs up!
Thank you for your input! We will work on that!
Father Marco, I simply love the Santa Clara website! I attended the Holy mass at the chapel on Sunday at 9:30 and loved your homily. Que padre Dios lo bendiga y la santisima madre Maria lo proteja.
Thank you for your encouraging words and for appreciating what our parish is trying to do to serve you better.
Went for Friday adoration for 2 first Friday in July and August and found out church was closed. Several people was outside talking about the church changes and reactions are not too happy
Thank you for your comment. Unfortunately there are safety/security, pastoral, and organization issues affecting the 24 hour devotion every First Friday. However, the First Saturday Devotion of Adoration to the Blessed Sacrament and to Our Blessed Virgin Mary is going very strong. As it has been published in our website and bulletin, on January 2015 we will begin a weekly "Family Holy Hour" (Adoration to the Blessed Sacrament where parents and children will be encouraged to come and adore Jesus as a Family). For this we must have a well organized ministry/devotion.
Father Marcos, I am very happy to see all the changes in our church in the last months. I thank you and all the people involved to make this happen. The radio station program is a nice uplifting during my once a week drive to Santa Maria, unfortunately once I reach Gaviota I loose connection.
Praying for our Crucifix to be found soon!
I have attended Santa Clara since we moved to Oxnard from Santa Clarita, where we attended services at St. Claire. It seem we are destined to be close to St. Claire.
I am impressed with the services, the beautiful church that makes me feel like back home in Colombia.
The website is great. It allowed me to register for once.
Congratulations for it user friendly design.
Since daily Mass will be at 8:00AM perhaps First Friday could have one hour of Adoration of Blessed Sacrament exposed from about 8:45AM to 9:45AM with funerals scheduled 10AM or 10:15AM. Also a new crucifix should be screwed down tight to prevent theft.
Hello I love this church and I have a daughter that goes to Santa Clara elementary school. I luv our beautiful church and I like how it gets busy at church but sometimes there is no room in the church for some people in the back. We are all very glad that you are back and that you are making a lot of very good changes. I like that everyone knows about our church it lets everyone know that we are such a loving and great church.
I really do like that you did that mass for our lady of quadulupe and the after reception great idea and who cares if we didn't have light it looked beautiful with candles and the I pads as the bible ha-ha.
LOVE THE WAY YOU DID THE WEBSITE, BEUTIFUL & we will find our crucifix don't worry
Hi Father Marco-
I am very please with the direction you are taking our parish. Also, I love your Homilies because they are very upbeat.
May I suggest that lights be added to the parking lot behind the church, the one at the corner of F St.? It is very dark there. Also, there needs to be arrows painted on the black top to direct the flow of traffic. After Mass everyone wants to go in a different direction which cause confusion and maybe an accident. Thanks again for all of the effort you are putting forth for Santa Clara. - Catherine
Hi Father Marco-
Many years ago I had a friend who belonged to the Crystal Catherdal in Orange County. Every year they sponsored A Day Extrodinare for women. There were a series of speakers who spoke on being a Christian woman in the current day and other topics that promoted growth in Christianity. A delicious lunch was served and the decor was pretty with a feminine touch. Of course, each lady who attended had to pay a registration fee. I would love to have a day like this at Santa Clara Church for the women in our parish and their friends.
Also want to tell you that the new website is awesome. Thank you for making this happen.
I have 2 suggestions I don't know if this is the proper place?
I would like a way to make my weekly contriibution monthly when I pay my bills and not receive envelopes in the mail.
I would like to see the ushers fill the pews, many people hug the end and don't seem willing to move in and make room for all at mass on Sunday.
Thank you for your had work and spiritual words at mass.
I would just like to start off by saying that this church is truly beautiful but I am a little disappointed that there isn't much information about the church's origins on this site. Not many people know about this amazing church and its beautiful architecture and I believe more pictures or information about this Gothic building would be great especially for students like me who are fascinated by this beautiful masterpiece. The high rise ceiling, the statues on the sides, even the what appear to be fresco wall paintings weren't given that much attention within the pictures I have found. It is a work of art itself, a gift from god, and I believe it would be great if you could add a little more of this on your already great website.
Dear Jennifer...thanks your great input...we will work on it! Blessings! Fr. Marco
I have a quick question in regards to the Blessing of the animals coming up this Saturday. Our beloved pet passed away on March 2, 2015. He has been blessed many times when he was alive. We have his ashes in a beautiful box, and was wondering if the box with his ashes can be blessed on Saturday. He was 15 years old when he passes away, and he was part of our lives for those 15 years. Thank you in advance for your reply...sandra
Hi Sandra...even though we celebrate life and creation, I do not see why I should not...after all, your beloved pet still lives in your hearts and minds...so, see you Saturday! Fr. Marco
Padre Marco, todavia se transmite en la radio el programa de 6 a 7?
Please help us serve you better. Make comments, suggestions and opinions.
